WHAT WE OFFER

Therapies

Counselling and Psychotherapy

Helping individuals address emotional, psychological or behavioural issues using different therapeutic interventions and providing practical strategies and support.

Counselling and Psychotherapy involve a therapeutic relationship between the client and the therapist, where confidentiality, empathy and trust are key components.

The duration depends on the individuals needs and goals, the severity of their issues, and their preferences regarding the depth and duration of treatment.

Generally sessions can range from a few weeks to several months.

Life Coach

Providing support and guidance, to help you clearly identify your goals, motivate you to stay focused and develop strategies to achieve these goals.

We provide support, guidance and accountability to help you make positive changes in various areas of your life, such as career, relationships, health and personal development.

Using various tools and techniques and by creating actions plans combine to help to empower you to overcome any obstacles, gain clarity over your future and thereby help you create a fulfilling life.

Somatic ‘Experiencing’ Therapy

Somatic ‘experiencing’ therapy is an approach to therapy that recognises the strong connection between the mind and the body in processing and healing from traumatic experiences.

Sessions focus on bodily ‘felt’ sensations, movements, and physical experiences as a way to access and release stored trauma.

Understanding how trauma affects us is a crucial step in our healing journey.

This approach can be helpful if you have experienced trauma and struggle to express or process your emotions through talk therapy alone.

Movement and Breathwork

Practices that involve intentional movement of the body combined with focused breathing techniques greatly help to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being. They also regulate the nervous systems and release negative blocked energy.

Movement can include yoga, dance and even simple stretching exercises.

Breathwork involves conscious control and manipulation of the breath to achieve specific outcomes like relaxation, stress reduction, increased energy, or improved focus.

They are often used together to relieve tension and cultivate a greater sense of balance and vitality.

Meditation and Mindfulness

Both of these practices help to train your mind to focus on the present moment, cultivate awareness and thereby develop a sense of inner peace.

Meditation can involve deep breathing, guided imagery or focusing attention on a specific thought.

Mindfulness is more about being fully present and engaged in whatever you’re doing at that moment without any judgement.

Both have shown to have numerous benefits for mental and physical well-being, including stress reduction, improved concentration, and enhanced emotional regulation.

Reiki

Reiki is a form of alternative therapy that originated in Japan. It involves the transfer of energy from the practitioner’s palms to the patient to promote emotional or physical healing and overall well-being.

The practice is often administrated by ‘laying on hands’ and is based on the idea that ‘life force energy’ flows through us all and if it is at a low level, we are more likely to be sick or feel stressed.

Reiki helps to promote relaxation, reduce stress and boosts the body’s natural healing processes. After a session you will feel more calm, balanced and energised. It will help improve sleep also.

Yoga

Sampoorna Yoga is a comprehensive style of yoga that incorporates elements from various traditional yoga practices.

“Sampoorna” means complete or whole in Sanskrit, indicating that this style aims to provide a well-rounded experience for all practitioners.

These classes will include physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation practices. The emphasis is on creating harmony in the body, mind and spirit.

Yoga has been shown to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and mental clarity while reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

Children’s Yoga

Children’s yoga is a specialised form of yoga tailored to suit the developmental needs and interests of children.

Classes typically include playful activities, storytelling, games, music and simplified yoga poses to engage children in a fun and interactive way.

Children’s yoga classes often focus on building strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, and body awareness, while also promoting relaxation and mindfulness.

The practice helps children develop concentration, self-regulation skills, and emotional well-being. It can also help with stress, social skills, sleep and fostering a positive relationship with their bodies.

Help Your Teens -HYT

We know the teenage years can be hard. Very hard at times. We base our parenting on love but the parenting of teens can most certainly test this!

They can change so quickly and so drastically that it hurts the whole family. They can bring out strong negative emotions such as worry, anger, frustration for their parents and seemingly not care at all. It can be a very difficult time.

But it is also a time of great potential for deepening love, increased self-awareness and much laughter. Our aim is to help parents of teens which will help them, the teenagers and the whole family to focus less on the downsides and offer much practical advice that we know works.

Wholistic Bee

About me

Hello and welcome to Wholistic Bee Therapy! My name is Sarah and I’m a Person-Centred (Integrative) Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Life Coach. I offer both long and short-term counselling online but also more alternative therapies when it feels helpful to do so. These include; Breathwork, Movement, Meditation, Mindfulness and Yoga (including Children’s Yoga) all of which are tailored to you to fit your needs. Although I specialise in Trauma, including childhood trauma, I offer a service to all who feel the need for support and guidance.

My background is working in education where I specialise in pastoral work and safeguarding. Hence, I am well aware of how to work well with the individual who presents in a stressed, unhappy and upset manner. Clients in recent work have also included survivors of sexual abuse and rape, childhood trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, low self-worth, loss, and grief.

A key to my success with clients is to meet each person and their situation without judgement, pre-conceptions and remoteness. And to meet in a way that clients feel safe. This relationship is key to success as people heal quicker in both mind and body when they feel connected, confident and at ease with their counsellor. It is for this reason that I offer a free, no obligation 30 minute consultation so we can get a feel for each other.

As your counsellor or life coach I will listen to you closely and with compassion. I want to hear and understand both your spoken and non-spoken feelings, thoughts and emotions. I will then be able to see more clearly the world from your perspective and thereby prompt insights that will help us explore the issue(s) you wish to work through. I will also suggest practical coping strategies to help you in your day to day life. We will work through this at a pace that is comfortable for you.

If you wish to pursue this further please get in touch with me using the contact form below.
